Forum: etree Subject: 25,000 individual concerts!

crazy! The Live Music Archive rolls on .. 25,000 diffrent unique concerts by over 1100+ diffrent bands and artists...

And the LMA hit 20,000 shows only in Feb 05 .. barely 5 months ago.. things are flying now! With the Petabox at the end of summer all those old shows will then have derivatives, it will be great.

Thanks archive.org!

I gotta say I've been to the Petabox forum a couple times and I might as well be reading a foreign language. What exactly will it do for us crazy people in the LMA or for the IA in general? Any changes going to happen besides the derivatives?

And hey- 25,000 is a HUGE number! Congrats!

The 2 visible benefits will be:

- it should allow patrons to dynamically create + remove derivatives of their contributions as wanted.

- all old stuff will have space for derivatives and will have them created if the contributor allows it.

Aside from that, additional changes are still being discussed and I am not sure which (if any) will affect end users.
